Just Getting Started

Hello Everyone!

This is Jim Spiers, the founder of SwimJim and we’ve decided to dive into the blogosphere.  With a wealth of experience and knowledge concerning water safety and child development, I and my senior instructors will be regularly updating this site to provide you with the information you need, whether it has to do with safeguarding your children from accidents or building confidence. I have been teaching children and adults for twenty eight years (I know…) and we have been teaching here at SwimJim for ten years now.

Over the years, I have been able to refine the Underwater Schoolhouse methodology we currently use at SwimJim. I first started to design Swimming Safety programs over twenty years ago in Houston, Texas. I first started developing swimming programs at the age of seventeen and began formulating the approach we now use and put together several programs down in Texas, and found myself committed to making the world a safer place through swimming safety.

While this first post is more of an introduction, be sure to check in for regular updates from us concerning your children, their development and their safety. Thanks so much!

Jim Spiers,
