SwimJim New York Closing Notice – COVID-19 Coronavirus

Dear SwimJim Families:

Governor Cuomo has issued an order to close all non-essential services as of 8pm this evening.  SwimJim was in process of preparing to do this anyway to protect your family, our team and the public.

The COVID-19 situation is serious.  School closures for New York City are underway in a massive and historic effort to protect teachers and students, as well as the spread of the coronavirus.

All SwimJim lessons at all locations end today on Monday, March 16th.  Our plan is to reopen Monday, March 30th, 2020. If the reopen date changes, based on advice from the New York State and NYC Departments of Health, we will communicate with you as quickly as possible and get back to life as usual.

We are deeply saddened by how this closure impacts your child as well as the personal relationships your family has with them.  All SwimJim staff has been temporarily furloughed so they can immediately apply for unemployment. All employees with health benefits will continue with them with SwimJim’s financial assistance.

In the spirit of full transparency, our goal is to minimize our losses as much as we can so we can reopen as soon as possible.  We are privileged to serve you and your children and are heartbroken we must take this action. We have taught kids for almost 40 years and with your patience and help, we will be back in the pool safely and happily very soon.

In good health,

Jim Spiers & the SwimJim Family
